Vasyl Tatarskyi
"I remember from my Soviet school days, when they used to talk about Good and Evil as a class concept. The landowner had one understanding, but from the peasant's point of view, it looked completely different. During the Cold War, the world was divided into two camps: imperialist and socialist, where each side considered its position to be more justified. What is happening now is a continuation of the global confrontation in an open form on the territory of our country, Ukraine, which has suffered for many centuries.
My sculpture symbolises the struggle between Good and Evil in the form of two almost identical, uncluttered strong fighters whose confrontation is supported by ideology and provocative information. For some, this is a struggle for material wealth and money, while for others it is the price of Freedom and Independence. However, will civilised humanity be able to resolve these wars for the sake of preserving our planet Earth?"
