Serhiy Popov
"Breaking Point" is a historical object that is directly related to the historical event of 2013, when the public dismantling of the Lenin monument took place during the Euromaidan events. The object is a fragment of a granite slab that was split when the monument fell, namely hit by the "head of Lenin".
"Breaking Point" is an artefact that captures the will and efforts of all generations of the Ukrainian people in the fight against imperial Russia. It is this granite stone that will keep this will and effort alive at the level of molecular tension in the structure of the stone, which emerged after the fallen monument hit it.
We invite you to visit the exhibition at the M17 CAC and see the works of Serhiy Popov and 48 contemporary Ukrainian and international artists and their view of the Ukrainian vision of the will, which was vividly manifested in the new wave of the struggle for independence in these dark times.
Organized by the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Modern Art Research Institute and M17 Contemporary Art Center. The Art Support Fund provided essential support for the opening of the second stage of the Concentration of the Will project at the M17 CAC.
